I'm also using scanners a lot. Do you know of any manufacturer of scanners that supports Linux?
Try the SANE project - Scanner Access Now Easy... :)

Yes it's my file but in the windows version winrar asks for the password this one just outputs an error of incorrect password without an option to enter it.
What about unrar? I haven't tried it myself, but it has a switch for not querying the password...

Welcome to the board.
I'm still on 9.1 with a turquoise Speedtouch and had to disable the firewall initially to get it working. The shorewall config files supplied by Mandrake were unusable with my setup.
Don't know if this applies to 10.0, but it might be worth trying... :)

Nvu is sponsored by Lindows, and according to the website, aims to be 'a complete Web Authoring System for Linux Desktop users to rival programs like FrontPage and Dreamweaver'.
Version 1.0 is imminent, apparently...

ZDNet reports on a British government proposal to release publicly funded software under open-source licences.

It's a long shot, but this old Bugzilla report may be relevant.

I'm having the same problem, in MCC the modem is detected, and it give no problems.
Afterwards, when it tries to connect I get the message that there's no internet connection.
Welcome to the board!
If you have the default firewall running, disable it temporarily and try again. The shorewall configuration provided by Mandrake doesn't work for everyone.
If this is the problem, you can download sample config files from the shorewall site and adjust them for your needs. The site has some pretty good documentation.
If you prefer, you could use a different firewall; or use iptables itself, which is the underlying code for most of them.
If it's not the firewall, you could try the suggestions in earlier posts.
Good luck! :)

You may find www.linux-pos.org of interest...

If you enabled the firewall after you had it working, disable it temporarily and try again.
The shorewall configuration files that come with Mandrake don't work for everyone. Shorewall recommend that you download sample files from their website and tweak them.
I'm told the instructions are easy to follow, but I reverted to using iptables myself... :)

According to MandrakeClub, Mandrake intends to sell PCs on its web site with Discovery pre-installed. Sales would be available in France only.

Erm, so I guess about every project has a Wiki? I didn't look yet, but I guess it's comparable to Wikipedia, only here with tutorials?
A Wiki is basically a collection of web documents which can be edited by more or less anyone, usually just by registering. The Wikipedia is an encyclopedia created in this way, and it has a description of a wiki here. :)

Here's a pretty comprehensive list of Live CDs with their ISO sizes and a brief description... :)

Eh... Mandrake has a Wiki??
I didn't even know that.
The Mandrake Community Twiki - it isn't easy to find, but it's on the Mandrake website under Support/other resources...

The LinuxQuestions.org Wiki aims to be a collaboratively-edited repository for all things Linux... :)

Yes, there was a post on here a while ago from some people at university in Iraq who want to get linux up and running and integrated as their country is rebuilt.
I've just been to check out their website again. They don't appear to need any software at the moment - they've recently distributed 200 Mandrake Move CDs to students.
The site has been cracked a couple of times, so perhaps they need some security advice?

Yeah, I checked it out, but like brahms (another program), it uses KDE, which I don't want. Should have mentioned that.Rosegarden-4 is... a KDE application, which means to build it you need the KDE 3.x libraries. However, once installed it can be run within the KDE environment or any other desktop or window manager environment.
Do you object to just having the KDE libraries installed?
