  1. Yes, I'll surely have a look at the logs - though it's a bit of a pain, as previously I could just log into konqueror as "superuser" when I had gentoo installed. Mandriva doesn't seem to have that option - bugger!

    Try 'kdesu konqueror'... :)

  2. I also have the Powerpack (download version) and the speedtouch (green frog) works intermittently. It did not work during installation, but after rebooting, I took down the firewall and reconfigured the connection and it worked! I then reset the firewall.

My memory isn't what it used to be, but I think I usually get another successful reboot out of it before it stops working. I repeat the procedure above, but now it doesn't reconnect until I reboot...

I thought the problem might relate to ipv6, which seems to be causing connection problems for others, but disabling it (with the following) doesn't help.

    su
    echo "alias net-pf-10 off" >> /etc/modprobe.conf
    echo "alias ipv6 off" >> /etc/modprobe.conf

Edit: I see a bug report has been raised.

  3. Also having version 2006 RC2, I see at least two more versions have since come out, but others are still having problems with the final 2006 version? Its a bit annoying getting a distro and you don't even know if it'll work.

Merlin - RCs (release candidates) are issued for testing purposes, and are not supported by Mandriva or this board. These versions are released through the Cooker project, which has its own forum here, where testers can compare notes.

If you are new to Linux, you should use an official, final version. This is more likely to work, and you'll get more support for any problems. :)
