Hi, registering, and welcome to the board. :)
You may like to read the Using Cooker topic as an introduction.

I need to file a bug report about this with Mandriva, but I don't know how.
Use the link in my signature - and welcome to the board. :)

Welcome to the board. :)
I can't help you with networking, but you can use 'kdesu konqueror' to access files as root.

Thanks for reporting back - and welcome to the board. :)

Oi! Just for that, I'm going to take 2 weeks off. Now you'll have to move all the posts yourselves...
-
It is not standard practice to solve problems by email, which excludes other forum members; nor should members be expected to search Mandriva Club for details of your problem.
If you want help, you should post details here and let members respond in the forum.

Welcome to the board. :)
As this is an opinion piece, I've moved it from Installing Mandriva. If you decide to accept help in the forum, it can be moved back...
-
Roger - I've merged your new thread into this one, so members can see the background to the problem :)

Yes, I'll surely have a look at the logs - though it's a bit of a pain, as previously I could just log into konqueror as "superuser" when I had gentoo installed. Mandriva doesn't seem to have that option - bugger!
Try 'kdesu konqueror'... :)
-
I've merged BlueSea's duplicate post into the thread, as it shows that he was trying to run ET... :)
-
I don't think you'll find the latest packages for Mandrake 10.0 as it's no longer maintained...
-
Console replied 'cannot find 'windowsapp.exe'".
I think Ian intended you to replace 'windowsapp.exe' with the application of your choice... :)

Hi, galipuraz. Sorry, we don't have a Turkish translator on the board. If you try to explain your problem in English, we will try to help you. :)

Hi, confused. I'm pleased you got connected - I'm posting from Mandriva 10.0...
From what you say, I appear to have been no help whatsoever. I may have to try the Steve Parker method too.

I also have the Powerpack (download version) and the speedtouch (green frog) works intermittently. It did not work during installation, but after rebooting, I took down the firewall and reconfigured the connection and it worked! I then reset the firewall.
My memory isn't what it used to be, but I think I usually get another successful reboot out of it before it stops working. I repeat the procedure above, but now it doesn't reconnect until I reboot...
I thought the problem might relate to ipv6, which seems to be causing connection problems for others, but disabling it (with the following) doesn't help.
su echo "alias net-pf-10 off" >> /etc/modprobe.conf echo "alias ipv6 off" >> /etc/modprobe.conf
Edit: I see a bug report has been raised.

Also having version 2006 RC2, I see at least two more versions have since come out, but others are still having problems with the final 2006 version? Its a bit annoying getting a distro and you don't even know if it'll work.
Merlin - RCs (release candidates) are issued for testing purposes, and are not supported by Mandriva or this board. These versions are released through the Cooker project, which has its own forum here, where testers can compare notes.
If you are new to Linux, you should use an official, final version. This is more likely to work, and you'll get more support for any problems. :)

We are aware that our automatic process for posting advisories is not working correctly.
Until aru is able to fix it, you may like to check www.mandriva.com/security from time to time; or subscribe to the mailing list. :)

The information given here under easy-urpmi is not correct, at least not for Mandriva. Obviously the powers that be here need to modify the information that "easy-smart" is giving.
Our EasyUrpmi is merely a mirror of easyurpmi.zarb.org. I suggest you contact trem@zarb.org to report any errors, as requested on the EasyUrpmi page. :)
