By the way, how do I tag my post as "solved"?
Edit the first post in the thread. :)

Google tells me that you can export the address book from Thunderbird in LDIF format. This can be imported into Kontact. :)
OK, I wonder how I'd do that. I've managed to find a file in the thunderbird directory, but it's .mab format (which I'm presuming is "mozilla address book" format), but it'd need to be converted to LDIF format, which is a little over my head!
John, I'm not sure if you still need to know this, but there should be an Export Address Book menu option in Thunderbird, I believe it's under Tools. If you choose LDIF format, you can import this into Kontact. In Kontact, the Import option is on the File menu. :)

I only suggested trying the plug-in because you said Kate didn't recognise the replace command. :)
I can use the replace command in the command line, but I can't get it to work with \n or \r.
I think I'll call it a day...
-
Sorry, neddie. To paraphrase the above: Kate has an internal command line, which is part of the editor component. There is a plugin for the editor component, which needs activating.
I haven't tried any of this, as I have only just got home and my tea awaits. :)
-
OK, I read that, but the command line page doesn't mention plugins and the plugins page doesn't mention the command line - are you sure they're related? Certainly in my kate config there are no options to do with the command line.Kate's editor component has an internal command line, allowing you to perform various actions from a minimal GUI.
docs.kde.org/stable/en/kdebase/kate/advanced-editing-tools-commandline.html
Kate is using two different forms of plug-ins, namely plug-ins for the Kate application and plug-ins for the Kate editor component. You can enable both types of plug-ins in the configuration dialog, which also provides access to additional configuration options for plug-ins that requires that.
-
PS/ Tried the Kate command line but it didn't recognise "replace" and didn't recognise "help replace", so I guess something's not installed.
-
Have you tried Kate's internal command line? It may work differently from the GUI...
-
Should that be -cipz?

su [root password] whereis bc
If nothing is returned, you need to install it...
-
I guess you are either trying to use bc as an ordinary user when you need to be root; or they are not installed.
We would need to know how you are using them and what errors you are getting, to help you further... :)

1- what is meant by limited edition as in my mandrakes's version ?
The name is somewhat misleading, but it is an official, stable, fully-featured release. When Mandriva extended the period between releases to a year, and changed the numbering system as a consequence, Mandriva 2005 Limited Edition/10.2 was released to fill the gap until 2006 was ready.

According to the product sheet (pdf) at the bottom of this page, it's based on Mandrake 10.0.

I've got the 2006 PowerPack download edition, and I've got a 'switch user' option on the unlock box...

Not quite sure why this topic got moved since Hamachi is a networking tool? Did I violate some posting rule?
As this is a general discussion, rather than a problem that needs solving, it fits better in Everything Linux.

Welcome to the board.
If anyone's going to help you, they probably need to see what errors you're getting - well, the first few anyway... :)
I've found some stuff at www.linuxquestions.org which may help: this refers to a driver available from eagle-usb.org.
-
Yes, that should be OK. For further reassurance, run a firewall test at www.auditmypc.com, or somwhere similar. :)

For what its worth t I think he is saying something about Turkish characters/alphabet not corresponding to his keytboard????? But this is a far out guess LOL
Thanks for trying, Gowator. :)
A Turkish-speaking colleague told me at the time that galipuraz was seeking help in Turkish, but did not specify what the problem was...
I have asked Erix if he would contact him in case he still needs assistance.
-
I'm a Turk and I speak English. Please add me to the list.
Thanks, Erix.

Not sure what's causing your problem, but there's a copy of the handbook at docs.kde.org/stable/en/extragear-multimedia/k3b/index.html. :)
