  1. Lenmark X1270, Should I follow Red Hat's process to install? There are several different ways, but which should I follow since I have Lenmark X1270 and am going to try and download the link above...

I don't know - you'll have to try them and see what happens... :)

  2. I wanted to be sure, when I clicked "here" on your link... it went to Lexmark Z604 product not Lexmark X1270??

Z600 is the name of the driver, which presumably works with several printers... ;)

Follow the links on the Open Printing page for more information.

  3. By the way, Spinynorman helpfully moved this thread to "Hardware" but it definitely isn't a hardware problem, as exactly the same hardware works with 2007.1.

You are having problems using a piece of hardware - that doesn't necessarily mean the hardware is at fault; it's just how we organise the forum... :)

  4. We have different definitions of "security," as to how it pertains to computing. As you can see, I have made few posts, yet most seem to get moved. I wish you would put a "General Questions" thread at the top...

When you've been here a bit longer, you may become a mod or admin, then you can decide where topics belong. I don't see how creating a dustbin forum (General Questions) would solve anything - you would still have to define what went there, and if it was just doubtful topics, they would still have to be moved to the right forum.

I'll post my question over at linuxquestions.org. There, I'm more likely to get an answer to my question before it gets moved. Great OS!....poor forum.

Threatening to go to another forum doesn't have much effect, I'm afraid - and whether a topic is answered before or after it's moved, is neither here nor there.

Slagging off the forum when you've recently arrived, is not the best way to make friends, but as you can see, our members are quite tolerant.

  5. The Release Notes contain important information about the Mandriva 2008 Spring release.

    The following topics are covered:

General information about new features and major changes

Changes to the Mandriva installer and upgrade instructions for Mandriva Linux 2008 users

Changes to supported hardware and drivers

    Changes regarding software packages

Other technical information for experienced users.
