No, I can't help. I have similar problem, can't send mail from Evolution or other two email clients. Can receive, though.

Ideas, anyone?

Might be related to this?

I have no answer.

I'm not sure of the right names, but I have maybe a similar problelm.
I cannot send mail from my default account in kmail or evolution or opera.
(Created new accounts in kmail and opera to test this.)
In kmail I get an error message something like "server refuses to relay. Error 5.7.1"
This in response to a test message, myself to myself.
Evolution error message is the usual gibberish. Forgotten.
I can send mail from other account, one of which is my own domain name, the other is Opermail.
Thought it was my ISP, but now I wonder.
Anyone have any ideas?

Now there is a /proc/acpi with mostly empty files.
No change in gkrellm.
I'm wondering if the fatal error of modprobe 283627hf driver isn't the main problem, and haven't a clue as to what to do about it.
Could it be the kernel-2.6.3.9mdk that I'm using?
-
OK did that, it was acpi=ht, so changed to acpi=on
No test now, as it's late and I'm off to bed.
Thanks much for help.

I did chkconfig --list and it shows the same as yours.
I don't know where bootloader config file is. ?
but if it is any use, here is some of /boot/confkig-2.6.3-9mdk

I did urpmi acpi acpid>reboot
there still kisn't anything in /proc/acpi
then did urpme gkrellm then urpmi gkrellm for the norlug rpm.
Still no temperatures showing
What I've noticed is that while sensors-detect can find w83627hf, when I try modprobe this happens:
[root@localhost william]# modprobe w83627hf
FATAL: Module w83627hf not found.
Could it be that this only works in 10 official?
-
mdk mirrors contrib and plf are sources for updates and good stuff you can download using urpmi.
-
There isn't any /proc/acpi in mdk10CE
-
ral, how did you make gkrellm show temps in mdk10?
I have 10CE with all updates, and have never seen temps. Or voltages.
Both showed in 9.1 though.

http://www.compgeeks.com/details.asp?invti...d=CDIMM00131-PB
There are two others if you search "external modems" there.
-
Depends on whether you checked the box for "start multisession"; if you did, you can add more files later by checking the box for "continue multisession".
-
I'm presently using the 2.6.3-9mdk kernel. No problems. :D
-
I have successfully used sh or ./configure, but never both together.
Someone missing something?
-
I imported gpg keys and still get the same problem.
mdk has bungled and ain't fixing its problem.

forgot to write: right-click on the font you want to turn off to get the menu.
-
In KDE control centre - system - font installer - administrator mode
turn off 75dpi fonts, maybe also 100 dpi fonts.
It worked for me.
I've since turned it back on again, and text ain't stretched. :head-scratching: icon needed.

I bought my external modem here for about $17. http://www.compgeeks.com/
Works perfectly, no fuss.
-
To be rid of the nasty tone, on my machine I did star->multimedia->sound->kmix->input,and mute the plug symbol on the far right.
I've turned it on since, but the tone never came back.
Mdk10CE not perfect yet. :P

IIRC when you do sensors-detect, the last question asked is if you want to install some prog, yes/no, and after typking y I've found the right lines in /etc/rc.d/init.d - the other section has to be pasted somewhere, but no problem.
-
I don't urpmi them directly, but instead get the list of needed ones from package manager, then manually download these to a created folder, then do genhdlist ./ <name-of-file>
urpmi.addmedia <name-fof-file> ://home/william/<name-of-file>
Then urpmi will get them from the file instead of from internet, and on re-install of mdk saves many hours.
:D

When I had a Lexmark z35 printer I always installed LPRng print system. It won't work with CUPS AFAIK.
this is done in mcc.

That wasn't my problem - just sent another email test message to myself, and it's working.
I hate mysteries like this.
