  1. 2 scarecrow

Thanks, I managed to log in again :) I went to XFdrake to verify if my nvidia settings OK. When pressed OK I got this

" Sorry, the following package(s) can't be installed:

    dkms-nvidia-8762-5.1.20060plf.i586 (due to missing nvidia-8762-5.1.20060plf.i586)

    nvidia-8762-5.1.20060plf.i586 (due to unsatisfied drakxtools-backend[>= 10.3-0.64.5.20060mdk]) "

They are in the pack but I cannot install them

    Thanks

  2. At last some graphics :)

I get this window (first time) "wellcome to mandriva PASHA(nick) " +clock in the middle . In the left a list of commands and user +pass.

When I enter my user name the window blinks and returns the same window...

    very strange :)

When I try to boot into linux-nonfb I get the same window....

    This from 2/8 :)

    Thanks

  4. 2 Ian

As I wrote in the first post, I don't know which pack I removed :) but it must be one of these

    alsa-utils-1.0.9-4mdk

    libalsa-data-1.0.9-1mdk

    alsaconf-1.0.9-4mdk

    libalsa2-devel-1.0.9-1mdk

When I tried to remove the libalsa2 and I saw the 400 MB dependance, I decided that something is wrong and I stopped :)

Can you show me the packages of other alsa's plz :) Is there command that will install all the missing ones?

    Thnaks

  5. 2 Ian

I forgot to mention that when rebooted(the first time) I got a blue screen with a mouse's X for long time, so I rebooted the PC manually !

The only editor I have is xedit and it opens an empty file.

    I uninstalled with "urpme"

    Thanks

  6. 2 Ian

OK, I did install alsaconf and run it..

It said that it will change somthing in "amix" and that I will be able to use any mix I like .I rebooted.

Anyway in kmix nothing is muted and nothing is changed :( Still the only way to control volume from kmix is by PCM bar and Headphone . Master & Master Mono - no reaction.

    THANKS

  7. 2 Ian

Did like you said. (In Sound System->Advanced Linux Sound Architecture (??) and in amarok engine-output plugin->alsa) Still same thing(quality of sound +kmix).

    # alsaconf

    bash: alsaconf: command not found

    Thanks

Can it be that when I change amarok inner volume bar , none of mixer bars move??

  8. to Ian

I managed to compile the source before saw your reply (It could save me a lot of time :) )

Anyway I will know about this option!!

Still the quality of sound is like from tube...

    And another one...

I don't completely understand the kmix options. When I change volume in amarok, in the kmix the PCM bar changes and when I move master volume in kmix nothing changes.I even can disable it...

In analogy to windows is absurd.

(My sound card is built in)

    Thanks

  9. Hi there...

    I have gaim v 1.5 . I added 4 accounts :jabber, msn, ICQ , AIM.

Every 5 min one of clients disconnects, until I'm left only with jabber.

It's very annoying. Also I don't know how can I see which clients are on / reconnect all clients (in kopete I didn't experience all that)

I added a plug that reconnects automatically(I'm not sure it really reconnects) but still, they don't suppose to disconnect ..

    Thanks

  10. Hi there...

Decided to install RPMs for Mandriva(1.4.0a) . I have downloaded Amarok, libamarok, amarok-engine-xine, amarok-scripts

    files form http://amarok.kde.org/wiki/Download.

Now when I try to install amarok.rpm i get "cannot be installed due to unsatisfied libamarok"

When I try to install libamarok I get the same error with amarok :)

    What's wrong?

    Thanks

    2 Ian

urpmi amarok give ver. 1.3 and I don't like sound quality there... :)

Currently I try to install from .gz but dependency kills me

  11. Hmm

I'm sure 100 % that the directory is correct(I managed to seed 2 torrents).

Anyway, when I'm trying to change a temp dir, I get " could not create symlink /mnt/.... please check permissions " (I don't think that's a reason)

    Thanks

Also I have noticed I can't extract rar files that contain " " (spaces). The only way to extract is to rename the file's name by eliminating the spaces. And I can't enter to "Program Files" on my windows partition. (both fat 32)

    [pavel@PASHA win_c]$ cd Program Files

bash: cd: Program: No such file or directory

May be there is a connection?

  12. 2 scarecrow

    It's a newbie's luck :)

I have another problem. Is there a problem with handeling long names?

Now I want to seed 3 torrents... 2 with short names are seeded without a problem. When I try to seed " Pirates.of.the.Caribbean.Dead.Mans.Chest.TELESYNC.XViD.INTERNAL.READNFO-

    PUKKA" I get " cannot create .Pirates.of.the.Caribbean.Dead.Mans.Chest.TELESYNC.XViD.INTERNAL.READ

NFO-PUKKA no such directory" . The dir is there... :)

Is there a way to short a name?

    Thanks
