  1. wow ian... thanks for the explanation.

    I will try them about Tuesday... I will post here my result Ok?

    Thanks a lot

    Meanwhile, I have troubles accessing my website using Squid proxy. It suddenly becomes slower and slower, but if I direct my clients to Wingate, it runs flawlessly...

    I actually haven't done anything to Squid, how come it becomes slower?

    Any idea, ian?

  2. hmm.. okay i'm not sure what are my mistakes

    so here it goes:

    1. I want my clients can't access some websites using "Sex" or "porn" words...

    2. I want my clients can't access the EXACT site www.xxx.com

    how do i apply that on squid?

    I used url_regex.. but I can still access what I denied. Strange

    here's my configuration:

    1. acl denied_phrase url_regex "/etc/squid/denied_phrase"

    I created a file in /etc/squid called denied_phrase

    vi /etc/squid/denied_phrase

    I typed: sex

    porn

    bla bla bla

    service squid restart...

    when I tried to access some sites that contain those words, i can still access them... why is that?

    2. I don't know what to use... help...

    Thanks a lot

  3. so, i remove the configuration into how, ian?

    - /etc/named.conf: zone "[what's in this]" in {

    type master;

    file "db.[what's in this]";

    allow-update {none;};

    };

    zone "9.168.192.in-addr.arpa" in{

    type master;

    file "rev.[what's in this]";

    allow-update {none;};

    };

    - db.e-doc.co: @IN NS NS1.[what's in this]

    @IN NS NS2.[what's in this]

    e-document in A 192.168.9.14

  4. ian , i can make it worked now.

    but now my boss asked me this:

    i enter website: //e-document.doc.co/e-document

    and it worked

    can i set the configure so i enter the website like this:

    //e-document/e-document

    so, i still configure .doc.co in /etc/named.conf

    but when i enter the site, i don't need to enter .doc.co

    Thanks

  5. wow, ian.. where r u goin? :P

    btw, i'm goin to find the report and I'll browse to squid website. I'll post the result here...

    and... i got a big problem here..

    the bittorent is down. I can't download it. help...

    so this is it:

    on bitcomet: Listen Port = anything... doesn't matter, right?

    Proxy : proxy tipe = HTTP 1.1 , proxy server = 192.168.9.213 [Linux], port = 80

    Use proxy only for http / tracker connection : Yes

    and i don't set anything in the squid.

    can i actually make this work? coz it doesn't

    :( and just get scolded... haha

    Thanks

  6. umm michael and ian, i've installed webmin and i couldn't see the log files. where is it? i've tried calamaris menu, and squid menu, but couldn't find the log.

    Thanks

    EDIT: uh i just had a meeting with my boss and he's seen the squid proxy server...but one thing he want that he wants to see the Current Activities, not just Access log (history). is this possible using Squid? so he wants to see who is downloading, who is browsing what Real Time...

    please help if you guys know something.

    Thanks

  7. mm... guys, anybody know where can i find a better way to see /var/log/squid/access.log ?

    coz i wanna see the report who has been accessing my internet proxy...

    i copy access.log and open it with a notepad, guess what... it's a messed up, if my boss wanna see the report and i give him that, i'll get slammed... :)

    thanks

  8. okay ian... it's working now...

    thanks a lot.. thanks to michael too for pointing the internet sharing problem.

    ian: i made a typing mistake before, it was http_access allow Torrent :)

    and thanks for your advice on dns server back there on another topic. I will try that... several days ago, my boss wanted me to build the proxy server first before dns server. Thanks
