  1. ok at the time of this post im on linux and connected through the eithernet port on my computer through my home network,now i got 2 things by my clock 1 is for the eithernet connection and the other is a orange ball with a X in it and it says network is down.please configure your network

  4. i ran some console commands in linux and will be posting what came up when i get the chance
  5. my wireless card is built in and i dont know what it is sense its from dell but so far so good it works awsome
  6. well i have answered my own question,i took the risk and installed it and it works great,my wireless card dont work on linux but its cool now i can learn more about linux but thx for your reply :D

  8. i have a dell latitude 110L laptop and i just want to know if anyone has tryed to install linux on this type of laptop and if you have what distro works best?

  13. hello all,well as the post says im having problems with installing mandrake i have a new computer and i would like to do a dual boot of windows and linux,now when i put the first mandrake cd in and restart it asks me if i want to install i say yes then it goes to where its checking for usb devices and stuff and while its still at that screen before it can go on further with the install it says it cant detect my cd rom drive or something like that,anyone got any ideas about that? also i can get to a screen that has a bunch of text and at the bottem it says boot: and i cant type stuff and i have tryed linux ide=nodma,that didnt work so i tryed linux acpi=off,that didnt work so then i tryed linux noapic and that didnt work so i dont know what to do and to help you a bit heres my computer specs: Compaq Presario SR1650NX Processer:AMD Athlon 64 3500+ 2.2ghz RAM:1gig Video:ATI XPress 200 256mb onboard video Hard Drive:250gig Drives:1 DVD+RW/CD-RW and 1 CD-ROM
