Yep, it works in Konqi. Had to test it. ;) But it doesn't with Firefox.
  4. Ok, thx for the additional info.
  5. Hi, I´ve managed to succesfully configure Java on my two desktops, on which I installed FC5 and using Gnome. I´ve been using the Manual as it was written by Stanton Finley on this site: http://www.stanton-finley.net/fedora_core_...tion_notes.html But last night I´ve installed FC5 on my laptop with KDE 3.5.2. All went well, accept for the installation of Java. I followed Stanton Finley´s guidelines step-by-step, but it doesn´t seem to be working. After that I tried a different methode, which I found on this site: http://www.fedorafaq.org/#java But this didn´t work either. I´ve tested the instalation of Java on this site: http://www.java.com/en/download/help/testvm.xml But in both cases, the applet wouldn´t work. Does Java need some additional configuration under KDE? Or did I do something wrong? Btw, I´ve also tried to change the directory of the plugins from the mozilla directorie to the forefox-1.5.0.3 directorie. But that didn´t help either.
  6. Scarecrow, how did you manage to flash your NEC in Linux? I only seem to get it done in Windows. Sorry, if those goes offtopic.
  7. Thanks, will look at it this afternoon.
  8. Oke, everything worked and Xfce is up and running. Thanks Ianw. But I´ve been removing a few programs in Xfce I don´t need through MCC. The programs are gone, but the entry in menu stays. The icon that accompanies the entry, is gone too. So how can I remove the entries that are left behind? I tried update-menus -v and a reboot already, but they didn´t remove the entry.
  9. Mmm, oke. My objective is to keep the iso as small as possible.
  10. I intended to make a LiveCD, so I would like to remove KDE entirely. Would this harm Xfce?
  11. Oke, thanks. Will give it a try.
  12. Would adding only the contrib and main sources, suffice for installing Xfce?
  13. Hi, I just installed Mandriva One on of my pcs. But installs KDE by default. The thing is, I want to remove KDE completely and install Xfce as my WM. But how can I remove KDe completely? Which commands? And after removing KDE, will urpmi xfce suffice for installing Xfce?
  14. Does smart also have Livna as a repo?
  15. But does it also have the same repo´s/rpms as yum does?
  16. I´m sorry, I only been using Fedora for 3 weeks, if I don´t get it. But what would the advantage be over yum?
  17. Mmm, I got that impression from your second review. I'm not having any problems with the updated packages with yum, so maybe it likes me more then you. ;) Just kiddin'. I will at least be aware of any problems, thanks to you Arctic. Thanks.
  18. I'm sorry to hear of your bad experiences with FC5, arctic. Mine are still good. I'm hoping I'm not runnign into the same issues you did. I'll have to admit, that I had some problems too trying to install FC5 on my laptop. But with certain bootcodes I could avoid the problems. I had more issues with FC4 on those laptops then I did have with FC5. As for my desktop, its running FC5 to my satisfaction, so I will keep it on it for a now. Just hoping I don't run into the same issues you did. ;) After all, I decided to install FC5 after your "great" review of FC5.
  19. How did you set urpmi? I mean, how did you configure it? Here you'll find how to configure it: http://www.mandrivausers.org/easyurpmi/index.php
  20. Thanks for the advice. Always used the Gparted-LiveCD. Now I've installed it with yum on my FC5 pc.
  21. Your kernel and kernel-source don't match. You've got kernel 2.6.12-12mdk and kernel-source 2.6.12-18mdk. So you should upgrade your kernel first to kernel 2.6.12-18mdk.
  22. Give this CD a try: http://gparted.sourceforge.net/livecd.php
  23. Or if you added the PLF-source to your urpmi-config, you can install the ATi-drivers from those sources: urpmi ati-xorg
