  1. Can anyone help me with the problem below:

    [root@localhost /]# xawtv

    This is xawtv-3.94, running on Linux/i686 (2.6.11-6mdksmp)

can't open /dev/video0: Device or resource busy

v4l-conf had some trouble, trying to continue anyway

v4l2: open /dev/video0: Device or resource busy

v4l2: open /dev/video0: Device or resource busy

v4l: open /dev/video0: Device or resource busy

    no video grabber device available

    [root@localhost /]#

It seems like SPCA5xx program is using /dev/video0, which is currently being use by my webcam.

tried creating /dev/video1 and have xawtv use it, but it says it can not be found. and it seems it still want /dev/video0.

When I un-install spca5xx program and tried to run xawtv, then it would say that it cannot find /dev/video0, but I know it is created just like /dev/video1.

  2. I managed to execute xawtv program, but I am getting the following:

    This is xawtv-3.94, running on Linux/i686 (2.6.11-6mdksmp)

    /dev/video0 [v4l]: no overlay support

v4l-conf had some trouble, trying to continue anyway

    Loading required GL library /usr/X11R6/lib/libGL.so.1.2

    ioctl: VIDIOCMCAPTURE(frame=0;height=288;width=384;format=3): Invalid argument

    ioctl: VIDIOCMCAPTURE(frame=0;height=288;width=384;format=3): Invalid argument

There is no TV channel, but I do see myself as my webcam is pointing directly at me.

I wanted the TV stations. All I get is a video display of myself from my web cam.

  3. Dies anybody have a solution to the probelm below:

    [root@localhost usb]# cd d..

bash: cd: d..: No such file or directory

    [root@localhost usb]# cd.

    bash: cd.: command not found

    [root@localhost usb]#

    [root@localhost usb]# cd..

    [root@localhost dev]# cd ..

    [root@localhost /]# cd ..

    [root@localhost /]# z600:/dev/usb/lp0 "Lexmark Lexmark Z600 Series""Lexmark Printer"

bash: z600:/dev/usb/lp0: No such file or directory

    [root@localhost /]# /dev/usb/lp0 "Lexmark Lexmark Z600 Serie""Lexmark Printer"

    bash: /dev/usb/lp0: Permission denied

    [root@localhost /]# cd /usr/lib/cups/backend

    [root@localhost backend]# ls

canon* cups2pegg* epson* http@ ipp* lpd* mtink* nprint* pap* parallel* pdf* ptal@ scsi* smb@ smb3@ socket* usb* z600* z700*

    [root@localhost backend]# ./z600

./z600: error while loading shared libraries: libstdc++.so.5: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

    [root@localhost backend]# ./z700

./z700: error while loading shared libraries: libstdc++.so.5: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

    [root@localhost backend]#

  4. It works great in WINDOWS. I do know that it is a re-brand of Lexmark 1150. I also read that it should be able to use the driver of Z600, which I did download, compiled and installed.

In Harddrake / Printer Setup; it does display Z600 for lexmark and I did select it, but it did not work me.

  5. WINTV USB 2 - Module UnKnown

Dell A920 USB Printer - Module Unknown

Creative CAM-600 USB - Module - Spca5xx (and that because I compiled this and installed this) - This one seems to be working fine.

  6. When I check in the MCC Hardware Configuration - there is an area call UNKNOWN. In that area displays all of my USB devices. When I display each of them, under the subject called MODULE , it has nothing.

Doe this mean that these USB devices are not configured properly?

  8. I am having a difficult time executing this. I am using Hauppauge WINTV USB device. Install the drivers from USBVISION and SPCA5XX. Compiled and created modules for each.

When I execute XAWTV I now get the following error:

v4l2: open /dev/video0: No such device

    vid-open: failed: v4l2

    vid-open: trying: v4l...

v4l: open /dev/video0: No such device

    vid-open: failed: v4l

    no video grabber device available

but, yet when ls /dev I do see video0.

  9. When I do a DMESG command, I see a lot of the below information:

    Shorewall:net2all:DROP:IN=eth0 OUT= MAC= SRC=192.168.1.100 DST=224.0.0.251 LEN=77 TOS=0x00 PREC=0x00 TTL=255 ID=0 DF PROTO=UDP SPT=5353 DPT=5353 LEN=57

Does anyone knows what this is and how can I stop it.
