  1. Hi , i have a problem with ANT. when i try to run it from root i get a "bash: ant: command not found 2 message but when i run it from normal mode it's fine. i have the following entry in my .bashrc file, where am i going wrong? .
  2. I've tried adding the jar files to the .bashrc file, but when i compile the .bashrc file i get the following error. i am typing ". .bashrc" to compile the .bashrc file is this correct?
  3. Thanks for all your help so far. The one last thing i'm struggling with is adding jar files to the classpath, do you know the commands i would use to do this?

  5. I really don't kno whether i shold be asking this question in this forum, but here goes. I am installing Jxta jar files in linux but don't know how or where to install them. Do they need to go in any particular directory so that i can use them? please help!!

  8. Hi guys i haven't got any further really but have managed to open the USBVIEW. But i get the following message when trying to look for usb devices. how would i go about doing this?

  11. Hi i'm new to linux so go easy on me. I have mandrake 10.1,every time i attach a USB device(pen drive/usbmodem) to the computer nothing happens. i can't find anywhere where i can check to see if the system has detected it. Can someone help me get around this please.
  12. Hi, i am a newbie to linux but after trying to install my modem i get the following message after entering the './configure' command Which means i am missing the GCC, My question is where do i get the correct version GCC from and how do i install it? .

  14. After installing madrake 10.1, i restart my computer and try to boot into madrake bt get the following message i then answer yes and get the message The computer then reboots. Can anyone help me?
