      Forum software upgrade   10/29/17

So you may have noticed the forum software has upgraded !!!
A few things that have changed. We no longer have community blogs (was never really used) We no longer have a portal page.
We can discuss this, and decide whether it is needed (It costs money) See this thread: Here

  1. Unable to configure urpmi

Use the Canada Respos. I've had no problems with it
  2. Dovecot & 2007

Just a quick question if anyhow has a working config that they are using for 2007.0
  3. Webmin & Perl execution failed [solved]

nm I had to go into the mod config top left of the page and set it to urpmi and it worked.. lol.. now I feel like a moron lol problem sloved
  4. downloaded 2007 last night, burned.. installed.. setup urpmi, sshd via installer and webmin via urpmi. now i've got this error in the software packages Undefined subroutine &main::package_system called at /usr/libexec/webmin/software/index.cgi line 25. everything else seems fine.. none of these errors are on any of the other webmin mods just packages. prob urpmi didn't install something it needed. anyone have any idea what that could be ?
  5. PCMCIA eth0 Network [solved]

I installed webmin and set a new service called it Network-Restart and set the /etc/init.d/network restart and then set the runlevel 3 @ 90 and it restarts the network and I'm happy :) so in the end i solved my problem :)
  6. PCMCIA eth0 Network [solved]

Ok I kinda figured out my problem it was to do with the init load order.. network was geting started before pcmcia had a chance to load. so what I have to do now is let the laptop load up log in as root stop the network service and start it again. my new question is how can i rearange my init boot order to load the pcmcia first then start the network?
  7. PCMCIA eth0 Network [solved]

    eth0 link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:00:86:61:04:71 BROADCAST MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1 collisions:0 txqueuelen:100 Interrupt:3 Base address: 0x300 lo link encap:Local Loopback inet addr: Mask: UPLOOKBACK RUNNING MTU:16436 Metric:1 collisions:0 txqueuelen:0 The Card is a 1999 model, 3Com Megahertz Model: 3cxfe574bt 3Com Site For The Card
  8. PCMCIA eth0 Network [solved]

um I kind of mentioned that I didn't install a gui so I'm working with vim & shell :) so a path and a file to edit would be great :) there was a link between the routor and the card but since I pulled it out and atemped to place it back in it not light anymore so I'm asuming something is up with the pcmcia thing about watching the slot.. then again i did a format and a reinstall thinking it might have been something I miss configured but when i installed I only installed the basic 88mb so its running almost bare so I might have to install the pcmia manager but unsure about how to pull that off
  9. um I'm kinda confused as to why it seems when I setup the network info in the install setup it fails to connect to the net. I even tried to ping another local lan computer and I get connection: Network is unreachable My PCMCIA card is ident as eth0 & when I run cardctl ident Socket 0: Product info: "3Com", "Megahertz 574B", "B", "001" Manfid: 0x0101, 0x0574 Function: 6 (network) any ideas as I didn't install a gui so I'm working with vim & shell I can ping the localhost and get a reply but that just the lo IP: SUB: DNS: (Routor) Gate:
  10. Limit Memory During Install? [solved]

I'm just gonna be terminal none of the gui
  11. Limit Memory During Install? [solved]

it seems to be something with the acpi maybe bug or something so I did some google'n and started the setup with vgalo noapic nolapic acpi=off and it seems to be installing @ a fair rate and not geting and errors
  12. I've got this laptop an Intell 233mhz with 80mb of memory & a 2.1 GB Hard Drive, now when I do text install I get a sync error and if I do linux I get a memory error and if I do a vglo i get a 50/50 error about sync and a kernel panic about not finishing. Now I was wondering if I could limit the amount of memory during the install of Mandrake 2006 i586
  13. auto install dependencies

lol ya i didn't see that casue I spelt dependencies wrong thanks for the feed back
  14. auto install dependencies

what is the package to install that will auto install dependencies rather then going on a 30 hour search for missing packages that require 10 other packages installed so on and so forth as it becomes a greater hassle lol I won't be installing a gui interface so if anyone has non gui command line based recomends?
  15. Question 1. How do I compile the tar of PHP 4.3.11 and add a ext such as PDF Question 2. Has anyone released a rpm for 4.3.11 ? [moved from Software by spinynorman]
