  1. Well after playing around with it I tried to install Kubuntu a variety of ways, and it either locked or wouldn't boot. I think there is something wrong with the hardware because I have other PCs running Mandriva and Kubuntu with no problems. So I guess have to stick with Windows on that PC making me think bad hardware + bad OS = working PC?

  2. Ok I got 2008 up and runnig great but I have one problem. When I try to enable Twinview and make the TV clone screen I get nothing. Each time I try to apply or detect displays I just get a flicker on the TV. Does anyone know how I can correct this? Also the PChas an nvidia GeForce2 MX 400 and I am trying to configure this through nvidia-settings.

  3. I just installed Mandriva 2008 on two PCs. Both installations were done using the Mandriva 2008 mini free disk. On one PC I setup my WiFi card quick, easy, no problems on the other PC I try to setup the WiFi card, pick the Windows driver then I am told the ndiswrapper GUI cannot be found. When I tried to setup this through konsole certain commands would lock the Konsole up. Both PCs are running Airlink awlh3025 wireless cards. Anyone know a solution to this issue?

  4. I just installed Mandriva 2008 RC1 and now I'm getting the same errors when trying to setup my wireless card as I did in beta 1. In beta 2 it installed quick and problem free. Is it me that is messing up or did RC1 jump back to beta 1?

  5. The only card I ever had a problem with was the built in SiS video on my lappy and that only happened on Madrake 10.1. It has worked fine since then. Also I have a number of nVidia cards that have never given me a problem with any version I have used. So I would have to recommend an nVidia card for sure.

  6. This is the first time I've used DOSbox under linux so I don't know if this is a program issue or just an issue with the OS version. But when I try to fullscreen DOSbox the screen goes black and DOSbox stays the same size but centers on the screen. Is the a way I can do a real fullscreen?

  7. I recently installed Mandriva 2007 onto one of my computers. It works fine except when I am using Firefox and goto a .php page it either tries to download the file or it closes Firefox. Can someone tell me what's worng and give me an idea of how to fix it. Thanks.

  8. I recently setup a Mandriva 2006 box and I am having the problem that when booting my screen is in one position but once I enter KDE the screen moves over to the right quite a bit. I am only able to adjust this by using the monitor settings. The graphics card is a GeForce 2 w/ 64mb built on RAM, the monitor is older and the only thing I know about it is that it is labeled ULTRA. If anyone can give me an idea as to why this is happening or how to fux it please let me know. Thanks.

  9. I was wondering if there is a way to get around how mandrake only lets you share folders in your home directory. I am using LE 2005 and I want to be able to share my web server folder (/var/www/html) so that I can edit my site from another computer. If anyone can give me some help I would appreciate it. Thanks.

  10. I recently made the switch from 2005LE to 2006. Everything seems to be working fine except my wireless card. I'm using ndiswrapper with a Belkin wireless card and I can't keep a connection over a long time. With 2005LE this problem never occured but now when I am away from the computer every now and then the card will stop working. I will notice the power light on but the traffic light is off. If I take the card out and put it back in it will start working again but I would like to fix the problem the right way instead. Can anyone offer some infomation on what to do?

  11. I'm having a problem displaying the network through Samba. It will list all the workgroups and shares fine when my pc is running through a land line but when running wireless I have to mount my shares manually. Even if I try to mount a bookmarked share it refuses to work unless I use the manual mount feature. I'm currently having this problem on Mandriva 2006 but I also had the problem on 2005 LE. Is there anyway I can adjust this so I can view the network using wireless?
