  1. The drakerpm-update command didnt work :( As for connecting to the internet isnt the problem, Konqueror wont open at all unless opening the terminal and logging into root and typing konqueror. Thanks for replying though
  2. During the installation i chose to format /home and / I think it was but still my problem is still there. Although when i open up the terminal and type konqueror it opens up but when i press home or any other konqueror shortcut it doesnt.
  3. Okay well first i couldnt get konqueror to open anymore and im not sure what i did to mess it up so i got on the internet and searched around and someone said they deleted there username and remade it to correct the problem, well i tried that and then i couldnt even log on to mandrake anymore. So i just booted from the mandrake CD and did the upgrade, that let me log in to mandrake again but konqueror still didnt work. I already tried doing the regular install again by letting mandrake format the two linux partitions but it still didnt work. Sorry for not giving enough information in my first post.
  4. I need to know how to completely remove mandrake 10.1, im also running XP. Iv tried just reinstalling mandrake and writing over the current install but my problems are still there. Please help! Iv had so many problems with linux but im not giving up! PS. I hope this is in the right forum
  5. I am useing Mandrake 10.1 and i used to have the 2.4 series kernel but upgraded to the 2.6 series and i was wondering how do i remove the 2.6 series kernel and go back to the 2.4 series?
  6. Well the first time i tried ndiswrapper i was useing version 1.1 and it didnt work and there were no other versions of ndiswrapper installed. hmm is there a way to get rid of the 2.6 kernel and go back to the 2.4 kernel and try it again?
  7. I installed the only package named ndiswrapper useing the install software program.
  8. It didnt work, when i typed modprobe ndiswrapper it said no such file or directory.. And mandrake didnt load a ndiswrapper.ko file at all.
  9. Okay well i removed the ndiswrapper i had then i installed the one mandrake came with. Now what do i do? I tried installing the .INF file but when i type ndiswrapper -l it says my hardware is not present. And i was looking the mandrake's version didnt install as many files as the other ones. Is there something else i have to do?? Thanks for helping me out
  10. I have a 2.6 series kernel and iv tried ndiswrapper 1.1 and 0.8 and neither work. What module are you talking about? Did i forget to download something?
  11. Im useing Mandrake 10.1 and im setting up ndiswrapper so i can use my Dell wireless 1450 USB Adapter and I almost got everything done with, when i type ndiswrapper -l it detects that my adapter is hooked up. When i type "modprobe ndiswrapper" It gives me this error "Error inserting ndiswrapper (/lib/2.6.8.1-12mdksmp/misc/ndiswrapper.ko Invalid module format" What does that mean? Is there a way i can fix this? [moved from Software by spinynorman - welcome aboard :)]
