I have a question and a problem. Question: How can I add Thac rpms into synaptic's repository. Problem: KDE 3.4 of thac's rpms are really very good. I have just one problem. The buttons in where System button(from special button) are good working but Settings button. How can I fix it? When I click it, an error KDE panel pops up on which writes "Unknown settings folder"

OO 1.9.100 menu fonts are some small on KDE 3.4. I could not fix them. Other programs are good. I read and fulfilled the instructions from http://www.openoffice.org/FAQs/fontguide.html . But nothing changed.

Dear John, Thanks for your interest. I checked it that Control Center, it is selected. My problem is still going on. For example, I created a new "link to location" to .trash in my home folder. Then, I delete a file, open trash folder but deleted file is not appearing.

You can use amsn or kopete or gaim.

I did now reinstallation. The icons are not still seeing on the desktop. I created the link location /user/.Trash folder . Then, I double click it, the window is pop up, which involves "open with"."run in terminal" etc. For example, I move a file to trash with right click menu. Then I went to /.Trash in my home folder. It has nothing in.

Like you said, I did not uninstall KDE 3.3. I directly update it to 3.4 with synaptic with cocoker repositories. I ran synaptic and went to upgradable sections and selected all upgradeable packages that are generally KDE 3.4 upgrade packages. I am in Gnome 2.10 now and will uninstall all KDE packages and reinstall with just 3.4 packages now.

I did that you said. But KDE 3.4 does not start.Instead, KDE 3.3 starts now. The icons are still disappearing on desktop. I cant find trash icon to recover the former .kde and .qt folders . PLEASE HELP

I am using Mandriva 2005 LE with upgraded KDE 3.4 and Gnome 2.10. I know OO is still beta. I have a problem both kde and gnome. It's shortcuts aren't appearing on the applications of the office part of the panel although I installed all major rpms, mandrake menu and gnome integration packages as well.

1. When I want to halt the computer, it is shutting down but not electrically. I have to push on the close button. It is not closing electrically itself. 2. I installed KDE 3.4 from cooker repositıry. Everything is OK for now. I click the system---->setting button. The error pop-up is appearing and says that unknown settings folder.The home, storage media, remote places and trash icons is running without problems.

I sought that synaptic is based on apt. But it was based on urpmi. No panic :) Everything will become in time.
