Traceback (most recent call last):

 File "/usr/bin/btdownloadgui.py", line 8, in ?

   from BitTorrent import version

ImportError: No module named BitTorrent

Edited /etc/mailcap to read

application/x-bittorrent; /usr/bin/btdownloadgui.py %s; test=test -n "$DISPLAY"

Any ideas??

It all looks right from here - compared it to mine. Texstart has a brand new version 3.3-1 that is the newest bugfix and new features. I think it is in the 9.2 directory here. If not use his ibiblio feed.

btw, I have only used BT rpms to install, if that helps.

I have Tex's Bittorrent loaded and I get the exact same error. Any clues yet?

None at all :( Fails to work in Mozilla and from the command line. I tried the texstar version, and the latest from cooker. The error message sugests to me its a $PATH problem, but the path is OK.

Hey, anon, thats it you failed.

This is the discriminating test to see if your ready to try 9.2 and our combined resources here suggest we aren't up to it :D

Actually, its a bit sad that the big feature implementation from 9.1-9.2 isn't actually working... or at least not as it should.....

going back to the 'Duval Interview'

So this is the much hyped bittorrent being introduced alongside fanfares in 9.2.

So how it work ???

Erm.... were still figuring that one out....

Have you tried the curses based version of Bittorent? It's what I use.

btdownloadcurses

James

btdownloadcurses.py --url http://www.levien.com/mandrake9.1.torrent

Traceback (most recent call last):

 File "/usr//bin/btdownloadcurses.py", line 7, in ?

   from BitTorrent.download import download

ImportError: No module named BitTorrent.download

Its tryin to import that python module, which for some unknown reason isnt installed, search in rpmdrake, there might be a libbt or libbittorent or pybittorent. If that doesnt work you can always try installing a Red Hat RPM.

All needed files are installed,

]$  rpm -q python

python-2.3-3mdk

Yeah python is installed, but the bittorent module isnt properly installed. THe bittorent module doesnt come with Python. It's seperate.

Success

Here's how i did it.

Deleted libwxPythonGTK

Deleted wxPythonGTK

Deleted bittorrent and the bittorrent-gui.

Then went to a cooker site.

ftp://mandrake.redbox.cz/Mandrake-devel/c.../Mandrake/RPMS/

Installed bittorrent .

Then libwxPythonGTK2.4-2.4.1.2-3mdk.i586.rpm

Then wxPythonGTK-2.4.1.2-3mdk.i586.rpm

Then bittorrent-gui-3.2.1b-6mdk.noarch

Then as a test, i tried in a console

 btdownloadgui.py --url http://qa.mandrakesoft.com/torrent/MandrakeLinux-9.2rc2.torrent

And it worked.

Then i smiled.

:) :) :)
