rsanjiv
Hi, Does the kernel source code always have to be installed in the /usr/src/linux directory. On my system (mandrake 9.1), there is no linux directory under /usr/src (the only subdirectory of /usr/src is RPM). However, there seems to be a linux directory under /usr/include. Is it possible that the source code is installed in that directory ? Besides, while using rpmdrake, what keyword should I type in the search box for the kernel source ? If it turns out that I do not have the kernel source installed, I am thinking that I should be able to get them from one of the three installation CDs (using rpmdrake). Thanks in advance. mdg
The kernel source is not installed by default, but it is on the install iso's. If you're using rpmdrake, put "kernel-source" (w/o quotes) in the search box.
Counterspy
It would probably be a good idea to update the kernel from one of the update mirrors. The kernel source is in the update list. Counterspy
