rmohn
I have been running Mandrake 9.1 successfully for a while. On the same system I just installed Mandrake 9.2. If I boot under "linux-secure", I cannot get X to start. If I boot under "linux" it starts fine. In the XFree86 log, I get a "Fatal IO Error 104". What is the difference between booting under "linux" and "linux-secure"? And any idea on why x would start under one and not the other? Thanks! -Rob
ezroller
X behaves like an actual server program...which could be insecure in itself. It may be totally disabled in that mode. I could be wrong though.
Guest slr
ezroller is right... I wouldn't consider X secure too...so maybe that's the prob...
