lets-eat-gary
Hi people, I have just updated the kernel of mandrake 9.2. I installed the kernel-2.4.22.21mdk-1-1mdk.i586.rpm from a mandrake ftp mirror using urpmi. Everything is ok and working except that now when i select to load linux at the lilo boot screen i no longer get the nice looking blue loading bar screen ( it used to say press esc for verbose mode). How do i get the loading screen back? Or should i just revert to the original (but by all accouns bugged) kernel 2.4.22.10. Thanks Guys Edited November 21, 2003 by lets-eat-gary
tyme
could you post the file: /etc/lilo.conf ? also, do an ls -l /boot (in a terminal) and post the output of that thanks! :)
Ixthusdan
The resolution must be set to 788. Look for a line in your /etc/lilo.conf that says vga=normal and change it to vga=788 That should fix it.
iky_tg
The problem is taht your initrd image has not been updated with the splash image. Try this as root : cd /usr/share/bootsplash/scripts ./make-boot-splash /boot/initrd.img 800* lilo it should work
