Guest Original Name
Hey guys, got a quick question for any wine experts out there. I've been trying to run Final Fantasy VII for a few weeks through wine. I got it installed and got the midi issues worked out. Now, my only problem is the cd-rom drive. Wine doesn't notice that the cd is there. And sucks for me, because the cd needs to be in the drive to play the game. I've poured over the config file a bit. And thought that that the problem would have to do with the device listing or mount path of the cd drive. SO i checked both of those and fixed the mount path to /mnt/cdrom2 and the device path to /dev/hdd(as were indicated by harddrake). But still no go. ANyone know how to fix this problem? It's really annoying. Thanks Brad
tyme
did you try mounting the CD before playing the game? or do you have supermount enabled?

tyme
it may and it may not. many people will swear to you that disabling supermount will solve your problem. i prefer to just say that it "may" be the cause and is disabling it is worth a try.
