Peep Posted October 9, 2003 Share Posted October 9, 2003 i don't have a problem with my laptop, but just realized i've got something like 3 years left on the warranty. how do computer companies handle service on a laptop running linux? if i send in the laptop because the keyboard stops working, or the video card goes bad, will they first reformat the HD and do a clean install of windex before doing anything else? I have sent it in for repair twice with Linux without problems. 1. time because of CPU overheating. 2. time because of harddrive click noise (Hitachi DK23DA-40).
