Guest mdantas
Hi Folks, I am having problems with sound support w/ Mandrake Linux 9.1. I have a 4150 HP Laptop (neomagic nm256 soundcard). During the install phase I am unable to change the sound card to snd-cs4232 in order to get Alsa sound support for that (I tried this with Suse and RH and worked fine even with OSS). At first boot, I also tried to change the sound card to snd-cs4232, and I got it, but unfortunately when I tried to change the settings using the configure menu, none of the correct options for Alsa or OSS appeared for this type of soundcard. It seems that it reads the values for the original nm256. I also changed the settings at /etc/modules.conf, but when I use sounddrake to start the sound system, some error messages appear related to irq,io. These settings are the current ones defines when you use ALSA. Anybody got any ideas ? Cheers, M.
