Right click paste function not working in kde4?

I don't have KDE4 installed to check this, but do you have klipper installed and set up on your panel (kicker)?

Actually I think it is there. I think it is put there at installation time, because I didn't do it. Should I remove it? I'll have to check after I get home from work.

No. I only ask because I have read where some KDE4 users had to set it up and enable it's cut (or copy) and paste actions for the right-click menu's, and or Ctrl-v to work properly.

I still don't get it. I removed Klipper and still have the same non-functionality. I don't see anything in Klipper to allow a file to be pasted to a destination. I've never used Klipper and never had this problem before. I think I'll just have to learn to live with it -- just another capability that went away with 2009.0/kde4.

Ok, it looks like it works, but it just works differently. You used to be able to select a file to copy and then do a ctrl-c or select Copy from the right click menu and then just highlight the destination directory in the right pane and select Paste from the menu to paste into the selected directory. That no longer works.

What does work though is to explode the destination directory in the right pane and then either to do a ctrl-v or click on an empty area of the directory. After clicking on an empty area of the directory the right click "Paste" menu item is changed to a right click menu item of "Paste one file" or "Paste n items."

So, it seems the only difference is that one cannot just simply select the destination directory in the right pane, but rather must explode it to be able to copy into it.
