william Posted August 31, 2003 Report Share Posted August 31, 2003 I'm using Firebird as my default browser and Evolution as my email client and it seems to be quite difficult to make them work together. When using evolution and clicking on a hyperlink, evolution launches Firebird but the url is not loaded. I have to copy and paste to load the page. (at least Firebird is launched) On the other hand, when using Firebird and clicking on an email link I got "mailto is not a registered protocol" error message. It seems that Firebird don't recognize evolution as the email client, so I have to copy the link, open Evolution and paste the address. I've gone to Mozilla Firebird FAQ homepage to find anything concerning the email link problem, but all the help is windows user oriented. Any hint will be appreciated. william Posted September 1, 2003 Author Report Share Posted September 1, 2003 I could have imagined that this choice of browser and email client is not something usual, but after a thorough search I found a solution using an extension that can be found here.
