swipe
Hi, does anyone know if the 2.5.xx kernel will be shipped as standard with the final release of mandrake 9.2....? I know the beta 1 uses 2.4.21. If not, could someone point me to a stable mandrake 2.5.xx kernel rpm. I need support for the Hauppauge Win TV Go tv card with the new xx88 conexant chipset, getting tired of watching tv on my windows box Thanks
aru
I don't expect the 2.6 kernel (the devel kernel is now 2.6 as the 2.5 has finished the heavy development phase) in mandrake 9.2. It is too soon to ship a kernel which is still unstable (although you can download it for testing purposes from a contrib mirror, at least, I could last week before the *mandrake's major mirror messing*; I've tested the kernel-2.6.0-0.test3.1mdk-1-1mdk and it is pretty stable in my system). About the kernel that MDK9.2 will have, the cooker mirrors are already providing the kernel-2.4.22.1mdk (which infact is a patched version of the 2.4.23-pre1 vanilla kernel), so I'm sure that 9.2 will be shiped with a mdk version of the 2.4.22 kernel (probably some 2.4.23-pre#)
