MPlayer acting wierd

I just reinstalled MDK9, and when I went back and compiled the source and installed MPlayer, I get audio, but there is no video, and the very top of the screen gets distorted. I took a screenshot, here's the link.

I uninstalled the pre8 version, and downloaded the source for the pre9 version, and installed that, too, but the same thing happened. Anyone seen this before?

I looked at the command-line output from running MPlayer, this is what I got.

Reading /usr/local/etc/mplayer/codecs.conf: 38 audio & 110 video codecs

font: can't open file: /home/sdmf/.mplayer/font/font.desc

font: can't open file: /usr/local/share/mplayer/font/font.desc

Failed to open /dev/rtc: Permission denied (mplayer should be setuid root or /dev/rtc should be readable by the user.)

Using usleep() timing

Can't open input config file /home/sdmf/.mplayer/input.conf : No such file or directory

Can't open input config file /usr/local/etc/mplayer/input.conf : No such file or directory

Falling back on default (hardcoded) input config

Sorry, selected video_out device is incompatible with this codec.

VDecoder init failed :(

Maybe I need to reinstall the video drivers?

Nevermind. When reading back through the README file, I read that the XFree86-devel package had to be installed for there to be X11 support (duh). I opened rpmdrake and, sure enough, it wasn't installed. Must have overlooked that when selecting packages to install. It works fine now.
