mdg
When I go into configure Kmail, Composer window, there's an option to enable/disable wordwrap. I want it enabled, but it won't let me enter a value above 78. Is there a trick to this?
mystified
I tried it and it wouldn't allow me to either. I even typed the number 100 in and it automatically changed back to 78 when I went to apply.
shanetheshane
I could be way off on this, but I *think* when email is actually sent it is broken up into 78 characters. I'm assuming this based on the base64 specs (like when you attach a file to email, it actually converts it to text) which after conversion are 78 chars long per row. This is probably a relic of the old 80 column terminal days. I'm not sure why kmail would force the 78 char limit on you. Even with the assumptions that all messages will be split into lines of 78 chars, there shouldn't be a LF or CR on each line....I'm stumped. shane
