Guest Siddhartha Jain
I have a Lenovo T60p with mandriva 2009 installed. Linux localhost 2.6.27-desktop586-0.rc8.2mnb #1 SMP Thu Oct 2 05:52:21 EDT 2008 i686 Genuine Intel® CPU T2600 @ 2.16GHz GNU/Linux Closing the lid generates no events as far as I can tell. When I close the lid, no new logs get appended to /var/log/messages. There is nothing called /var/log/acpi on the system. "acpid" is running and seems to startup with no errors. These are the acpi procs: [root@localhost log]# ps ax | grep acpi 56 ? S< 0:00 [kacpid] 57 ? S< 0:00 [kacpi_notify] 1214 ? S< 0:00 [ktpacpid] 2861 ? S 0:00 hald-addon-acpi: listening on acpid socket /var/run/acpid.socket 2918 ? Ss 0:00 /usr/sbin/acpid The module "thinkpad_acpi" is loaded and I have not disabled acpi at boot. The /proc/acpi tree is populated with all sorts of acpi information of the laptop. So what could be missing? Thanks!! adamw
Are you basing this on the fact that kde4's kpowersave doesn't suspend when you close the lid? if so, that's a known bug in kpowersave, not anything wrong with your ACPI. You might want to try it with guidance-power-manager.
