Guest bjc
A while back I remember seeing something on reducing the number of programs starting up at the begining. Could someone point me to that discussion or explain how I can check what programs start-up automatically, and which can be removed from start-up, and how that is done. Those that are removed from start-up, can they be invoked if required during a session? By reducing the number of programs that start up at the begining, will the computer respond and run noticeably faster? Thanks for your help. mystified
Here's a link to one of the discussions. http://www.mandrakeusers.org/viewtopic.php?p=32332 To see what is starting up automatically go to the Mandrake Control Center, System, DrakXServices. Guest bjc
Thanks Mystified for the connections to previous discussions on this topic. There is a lot there, and I will read them carefully, and see what I could do. I'll look at MCC right away.
