Building RH rpms on Solaris

Recommended Posts

Ok, this might be a stupid question, but I was wondering if it is possible to rebuild RH rpms on a Solaris box to use for my RH box??

I'm kinda lazy this morning and haven't googled yet.

My reason is I have a E250 & E4500 that I use for test systems in my staging room & more often than not, they never get used. I was thinking from a pure horse power route that I could rebuild a lot of RH rpms for Athlon-XP optimizations a lot FASTER?

What do you all thank, other than I'm :screwy:

Arghhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've been trying to get my hands on one of those from ebay, each time get outbidded!!

Solaris has some tools (although I haven't had a chance to really get into them yet, so I don't know for sure) that will let you install rpms on a solaris system with Solaris 9 (I don't know about 8 ) I don't know if it'll work the other way around though, but It might be worth looking into.
