Guest arise
Did anyone install 9.1 on a HT Enabled P4? Does it recognize and use the SMP kernel by default? Any noticeable speed difference? I am running Suse8.2 right now, using 2.4.20-64GB-SMP by default, i have NEVER seen Linux run this fast and so responsive before....

pmpatrick
That's a good question. I don't know the answer but I can tell you that HP is selling mdk9.1 on their destops and include P4 HT processor as an option: http://h50025.www5.hp.com/hpcom/in_en/14_3...610summary.html Now whether the hyperthreading works or not is another matter. GuoJing
No it's not enabled by default, and the customised Mandrake kernel sources wouldn't compile with SMP (for HT) support on my machine for some reasons. Always fails when it comes to the cpufreq module. I got the 2.4.21 stable kernel and it compiled fine. Runs very fast :)
