After doing proper steps and make install I get this output

The installed Wine libraries will not be found!

You can either:

Add the line '/usr/local/lib' to /etc/ld.so.conf and run /sbin/ldconfig

export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$LD_LIBRARY_PATH:/usr/local/lib

I added the line to /etc/ld.so.conf and ran /sbin/ldconfig as root through run command. But the last part on export didn't seem to work. It still says command not found when I run wine notepad.

Are you in the directory of notepad when you try to run it?

well, I got it to work by running that setup file someone had direced me to. It ran notepad but I am still tryin got figure out how to run programs already installed on my windows XP partition. Seems like this is where things get tricky for everyone. No go with Photoshop 7 yet. And I want to install IE 5.5 or 6 if I can.
