Guest Joe Noob
Hi guys Im looking for hardware recomendations for a DSL wireless network. Im really for well supported, "easy " to configure PCMCIA card for laptop and router/ firewall. Ive gotten mixed reviews on the DWL 650 pc card( I thought all prism 2 cards were ok). What are your thoughts on the Orion cards. Ease of use and set up are much more important than cost. Thanks
shoegoo
I have an Orinoco Gold card, and a D-link dl-614+ router, they were both very easy to setup and configure. Mnay tutorials online. Also great for wardriving ;)
tyme
if you want to go "wardriving" you should get something other than the orinoco gold card, as it's signal is rather weak (even with the pringles trick). but, for home use, it's a good card ;-) i'd just hunt for a list of wireless pcmcia cards that work in linux (google baby!) and look for a dependable one.
