Gentoo, 2.6.0 and Radeon 3D acceleration

I've installed gentoo 1.4 rc4 and X and fluxbox, 3D never worked for me. Last night I installed 2.6.0test1.

 

Now, when I boot up, the modules in my /etc/modules.autoload.d/kernel-2.6 file (radeon, scanner, printer, all compiled as modules) don't load (I get the [!! over on the right)

 

I also see this when starting x:

I'm emerging module-init-tools now to see if that helps...

also try loading the modules that give a !! on startup and report any errors (if the modutils-init doesn't work)

OK folks - you NEED to

emerge module-init-tools

for the 2.5.x or 2.6.x kernels to be able to load modules properly!!

 

Now I dare anyone to meet me in Quake 3 to get their rumps roasted...

Did you get nvidia to compile under 2.6?
