Guest maximum
Why doesn't Borland JBuilder9 for Linux work on Mandrake9.1? Even its installation doesn't run. I mean, I've read 'system requirements readme' for JBuilder, and it can run only with RedHat7.2 or above. Is it possible to run on Mandrake too? thx
VeeDubb
I'm not familiar with that app. WHat does it do? Is it a java IDE? If so, I'd say ditch it. You'll be happier with kate and the jdk
mikeoneil
I don't know about JBuilder but Kylix, the Linux version of C++Builder/Delphi, does not work properly with Mdk9.1 or any new distribution. It is due to an incompatibility problem with the latest glibc libraries. There are ways to fix this by using 'compat' libraries and tweaking a few things. In my opinion Borland should just spend a little bit of time and release a patch or updated version, but their support for Linux seems limited. You can look through the Borland newsgroups for more info. http://newsgroups.borland.com M.
3lade
It took me ages but I eventually got Kylix to install on 9.1 I have to reboot the machine, felt like windows for a bit, log in as root and run install. Everytime I ran something first the install would just hang or crash out giving an Error10 message.
