Hi,

I've used several different Linux distros before settling on Mandriva recently. I wanted to install an rpm called msfonts-1.2.1-1.src.rpm but its being rejected. See below:

[amanda@localhost ~]$ rpm -ivh /home/amanda/Download/msfonts-1.2.1-1.src.rpm
warning: /home/amanda/Download/msfonts-1.2.1-1.src.rpm: Header V3 DSA signature: NOKEY, key ID 41d6b379
error: cannot create %sourcedir /usr/src/rpm/SOURCES

Then I thought maybe I needed to be in root, so:

[root@localhost amanda]# rpm -ivh /home/amanda/Download/msfonts-1.2.1-1.src.rpm
warning: /home/amanda/Download/msfonts-1.2.1-1.src.rpm: Header V3 DSA signature: NOKEY, key ID 41d6b379
1:msfonts warning: user aviram does not exist - using root
warning: group aviram does not exist - using root
########################################### [100%]
warning: user aviram does not exist - using root
warning: group aviram does not exist - using root

Does anyone know an alternative rpm for getting Windows fonts? The fonts that come with Mandriva are fine for me, but drive my mother nuts LOL She's just locked in her ways.

Thanks,

Amanda

welcome to mub :)

my guess is that you use the wrong package, it's a source package, I don't know where you got it from, from the mandriva repositories? I found the package below on pbonenet, which is the one that should work

ftp://ftp.pbone.net/mirror/olea.org/paque....1-1.noarch.rpm

but I always just use the mandriva control center to import the windows fonts, works fine for me...

Thank you so much!

Not sure where I got that other package from. It was on a memory stick of backup files, etc. Anyway, I'm all set.
