weird X font behavior

OK, there is some repeatable weirdness (bug?) on my machine:

Whenever I reboot the machine (unfortunately I still have to use Windows for pro audio recording), and log into X for the first time, all the fonts appear smaller, almost like 75dpi rather than 100dpi or something. But, if I restart X, then the fonts look OK.

I do not have to start KDE or GNOME or any other WM; if I restart X from the KDM login screen right after a reboot the fonts look OK.

Anyone else have this issue?

I had the same problem.. when you restart X for some reason it changes your resolution, only for that session.

solution:

- try and avoid restarting X

- if the fonts get screwed start XFdrake and selected ur desired resolution and let it restart X

hope this helps..
