riorama
greeting all! Lately I havent been able to run xmms (where it used to run just great) I tried to run it in a shell to watch it choke, and I got segmentation fault when I run it as root it seems to work. Also, when I tried [root@localhost log]# grep -ir 'xmms' * | more rpmpkgs:libxmms1-1.2.7-13mdk.i586.rpm rpmpkgs:xmms-1.2.7-13mdk.i586.rpm rpmpkgs:xmms-arts-0.4-8mdk.i586.rpm rpmpkgs:xmms-esd-1.2.7-13mdk.i586.rpm rpmpkgs:xmms-kjofol-skins-1.2.0-5mdk.i586.rpm rpmpkgs:xmms-mesa-1.2.7-13mdk.i586.rpm rpmpkgs:xmms-mikmod-1.2.7-13mdk.i586.rpm rpmpkgs:xmms-more-vis-plugins-1.6.0-2mdk.i586.rpm rpmpkgs:xmms-skins-1.0.0-13mdk.noarch.rpm rpmpkgs:xmms-smpeg-0.3.4-7mdk.i586.rpm security/rpm-qa.yesterday:libxmms1-1.2.7-13mdk 1053716243 security/rpm-qa.yesterday:xmms-1.2.7-13mdk 1053716510 security/rpm-qa.yesterday:xmms-arts-0.4-8mdk 1053717557 security/rpm-qa.yesterday:xmms-esd-1.2.7-13mdk 1053717563 security/rpm-qa.yesterday:xmms-kjofol-skins-1.2.0-5mdk 1053717563 security/rpm-qa.yesterday:xmms-mesa-1.2.7-13mdk 1053717555 security/rpm-qa.yesterday:xmms-mikmod-1.2.7-13mdk 1053717555 security/rpm-qa.yesterday:xmms-more-vis-plugins-1.6.0-2mdk 1053717559 security/rpm-qa.yesterday:xmms-skins-1.0.0-13mdk 1053717597 security/rpm-qa.yesterday:xmms-smpeg-0.3.4-7mdk 1053717573 security/rpm-qa.today:libxmms1-1.2.7-13mdk 1053716243 security/rpm-qa.today:xmms-1.2.7-13mdk 1053716510 security/rpm-qa.today:xmms-arts-0.4-8mdk 1053717557 security/rpm-qa.today:xmms-esd-1.2.7-13mdk 1053717563 security/rpm-qa.today:xmms-kjofol-skins-1.2.0-5mdk 1053717563 security/rpm-qa.today:xmms-mesa-1.2.7-13mdk 1053717555 security/rpm-qa.today:xmms-mikmod-1.2.7-13mdk 1053717555 security/rpm-qa.today:xmms-more-vis-plugins-1.6.0-2mdk 1053717559 security/rpm-qa.today:xmms-skins-1.0.0-13mdk 1053717597 security/rpm-qa.today:xmms-smpeg-0.3.4-7mdk 1053717573 and so on.... I know this must be a permissions issue, but where do I begin to change this? I keep trying whereis to locate the different pieces, and can't seem to find them. Any hints? Guest Kamikaze_Gerbil
Di you try deleting your .xmms directory? Since it works for root you probably have a config problem. This fixed it for me several times as it rewrites the directory with defaults.
