manmath sahu
Hi All, Two days back I downloaded OxygenOffice 2.4.1. But I am unable to install it. I tried every this and that but to no avail. Let me explain the story. First I downloaded OOo_2.4.1_080616_Linux32_rpm_install.tar.gz from sourceforge. But extracting that file I found it contained the following directories and files: 28K ./licenses/LICENSE_en-US.html 28K ./licenses/LICENSE_en-US 60K ./licenses 4.0K ./update 12K ./readmes/README_en-US.html 12K ./readmes/README_en-US 28K ./readmes 3.7M ./RPMS/openoffice.org-core02-2.4.1-9310.i586.rpm 92K ./RPMS/openoffice.org-gnome-integration-2.4.1-9310.i586.rpm 4.2M ./RPMS/openoffice.org-extra-fonts-2.4.1-9310.i586.rpm 4.0K ./RPMS/openoffice.org-core04-2.4.1-9310.i586.rpm 29M ./RPMS/openoffice.org-core04u-2.4.1-9310.i586.rpm 8.5M ./RPMS/openoffice.org-core03u-2.4.1-9310.i586.rpm 56M ./RPMS/openoffice.org-core06-2.4.1-9310.i586.rpm 6.9M ./RPMS/openoffice.org-calc-2.4.1-9310.i586.rpm 712K ./RPMS/openoffice.org-core05-2.4.1-9310.i586.rpm 92K ./RPMS/openoffice.org-onlineupdate-2.4.1-9310.i586.rpm 2.9M ./RPMS/openoffice.org-core09-2.4.1-9310.i586.rpm 188K ./RPMS/openoffice.org-extension-presentation-minimizer-2.4.1-9310.i586.rpm 384K ./RPMS/openoffice.org-core08-2.4.1-9310.i586.rpm 2.8M ./RPMS/openoffice.org-base-2.4.1-9310.i586.rpm 100K ./RPMS/openoffice.org-javafilter-2.4.1-9310.i586.rpm 2.4M ./RPMS/openoffice.org-extension-report-builder-2.4.1-9310.i586.rpm 1.4M ./RPMS/openoffice.org-math-2.4.1-9310.i586.rpm 24K ./RPMS/openoffice.org-kde-integration-2.4.1-9310.i586.rpm 364K ./RPMS/openoffice.org-headless-2.4.1-9310.i586.rpm 112K ./RPMS/openoffice.org-pyuno-2.4.1-9310.i586.rpm 74M ./RPMS/openoffice.org-core01-2.4.1-9310.i586.rpm 348K ./RPMS/openoffice.org-graphicfilter-2.4.1-9310.i586.rpm 8.0K ./RPMS/openoffice.org-emailmerge-2.4.1-9310.i586.rpm 56K ./RPMS/openoffice.org-xsltfilter-2.4.1-9310.i586.rpm 4.4M ./RPMS/openoffice.org-writer-2.4.1-9310.i586.rpm 396K ./RPMS/desktop-integration/openoffice.org-mandriva-menus-2.4-9310.noarch.rpm 208K ./RPMS/desktop-integration/openoffice.org-slackware-menus-2.4-noarch-9310.tgz 428K ./RPMS/desktop-integration/openoffice.org-suse-menus-2.4-9310.noarch.rpm 428K ./RPMS/desktop-integration/openoffice.org-redhat-menus-2.4-9310.noarch.rpm 388K ./RPMS/desktop-integration/openoffice.org-freedesktop-menus-2.4-9310.noarch.rpm 376K ./RPMS/desktop-integration/openoffice.org-debian-menus_2.4-9310_all.deb 2.2M ./RPMS/desktop-integration 68M ./RPMS/openoffice.org-extra-gallery-2.4.1-9310.i586.rpm 648K ./RPMS/openoffice.org-core03-2.4.1-9310.i586.rpm 1.5M ./RPMS/openoffice.org-impress-2.4.1-9310.i586.rpm 1.1M ./RPMS/openoffice.org-draw-2.4.1-9310.i586.rpm 4.1M ./RPMS/openoffice.org-core07-2.4.1-9310.i586.rpm 360K ./RPMS/openoffice.org-testtool-2.4.1-9310.i586.rpm 21M ./RPMS/openoffice.org-core05u-2.4.1-9310.i586.rpm 295M ./RPMS 295M . Now the problem is there is no .sh file or something to automate the installation. I don't know how to go about it. Whichever rpm file i try to install ends up with some sort of dependency problem.... Please help me out! Reiver_Fluffi
The openoffice.org guide recommends the following steps: Installation Steps Unpack the downloaded image into a directory. For example, currently, the following command would unpack into the current directory: tar xvzf OOo_2.0.0_LinuxIntel_install.tar.gz Su to root, if necessary. cd into the directory with the unpacked image. This could be RPMS. Delete any rpm files that do not apply to your system. For example, on a Fedora Core 3 system, delete any rpms specific to another distribution such as openofficeorg-suse-menus-1.9.79-1.noarch.rpm. Then execute rpm -Uvih *rpm. The same should apply for Oxygen Office
spinynorman
There's an installation guide here, but it's in German - the 'installations_handbuch.pdf'. From what I can make out, Reiver's method is more or less right... :)
