Glitz
Just out of curiosity, if you use links because it is faster (since it doesn't display graphics) then why not just turn off the graphics in your gui based browser? mtweidmann
You also argue th opposite. If your going to disable the graphics why bother using a GUI brower? After all text based browsers tend use less system resources, and if you've got graphics switched off whats the difference?
Guest bjc
For my system, Links Graphics mode doesn't use any swap space. Mozilla, on the other hand, uses about 15 MB of swap on a typical internet visit. Links text-mode doesn't need swap of course. So Mozilla is slower loading and moving about, especially on back button. I have 64 MB of ram, and 208 MB of swap space.
Guest BooYah
In addition to the speed. I like using the keyboard better than the mouse. If I'm just reading, I use links or glinks. If I have to interact with the site, I'll use MozFirebird.
