Guest jmsuthar
Do the mandrake people know that the bootdisk created during installation doesn't work? I posted a message a few months ago about the bootdisk not working. Has the bootdisk worked for any of you reading this post? I want to have Linux installed on my computer, but I don't want lilo or grub to show up when the computer is started. Is that what the bootdisk if for, or is it for something else? - Thank you, Jigar

Guest jmsuthar
mkbootdisk $(uname -r) What does that mean? I am not very familiar with linux commands yet :). I understand 'mkbootdisk', but I don't know what the rest does.
Germ
If you are using the standard kernel supplied with MDK 9.1, do this as root: mkbootdisk --device /dev/fd0 2.4.21-0.13mdk /germ
