Guest silvalen
I just installed MDK 9.1 this evening and everything was going well until I decided to try Tuxracer, at which point my computer locked up and required a cold boot. While going through the file check during the reboot, I opted to "fix" the file system. A bit later in the boot process, I noticed that the ALSA command flagged with error messages indicating that the tr and head commands were not found. I also discovered that the clear command no longer exists. Since these are fairly important (and basic) commands, I'd like to get them back. How can I do this, apart from reinstalling the whole system? Thanks! tyme
I would do a search in MCC->Software->Software Remover to see what packages may contain this commands, then try forcing a re-install of said packages. obviously somehow these packages were corrupted or removed by the hard reboot. aru
You'll need to install the coreutils package, in MDK9.1 is coreutils-4.5.3-2mdk (check the update mirrors, to see if that package has been updated), and in cooker is coreutils-5.0-3mdk.i586.rpm
