MoonChild
I am sure these were mentioned somewhere else before, but I can't find the posts. Please forgive the repetition... Sound. SounBlaster Live! Value: Won't play any sounds for some reason. Also recognised as TriTech TR 28602 for some reason still beyond me. HardDrake does say it's SBLive! but applications see it as the TriTech. CD-ROMs: For some reason, eventough I can mount all CDs/DVDs just fine, I always get an input/output error and can't read the contents of them. Any ideas on what could be wrong? Please note both of the above problems didn't exist before the installation of 9.1, so I am assuming it's something with my configurations. Thank you for your time
mdg
If there are no errors for your soundcard, check the volume. I think 9.1 has the volume set to zero on install. Do "aumix" in console. Check if you have supermount enabled, if so, try without. My system works OK with supermount, but I've read about lots of problems with it
MoonChild
Supermount could be the problem I will try it up and ask again I guess. I didn't see the sound settings yet, but I have the volume set through gkrellm and it's at the loudest with no sound coming
aRTee
Check what /etc/modules.conf says about your soundcard, which module gest loaded... (ps hey what happened with the cd's you had trouble burning? Got things going I guess..?)
MoonChild
Yeah, got it straight It seems my DVD player wouldn't read them, so I unplugged it, make the CD-R primary CD ROM and booted from there. But I am still striving with it. Volume thing hadn't anything to do with it Moving on...
aRTee
Could you post your /etc/modules.conf ?
