Guest Adriano
According to this (wired.com) (english) and this (psoe.es) (spanish), Socialist party Candidate for mayor of Zaragoza, Alberto Belloch, is proposing as a base for his campaign the adoption of Free/open Source Software in the region, and the creation of "Open Cities". He consulted a local LUG, was thoroughly impressed with the guys, and got working on it. The best part of this is he spoke to important business people and they were enthusiastic. The guy has also big chances of winning. The Linux distro he is "working on" is called Augustux (from Zaragoza's ancient name, Caesar Augusta), put together by the local LUG. aru
Just for the record, Extremadura, another region of Spain adopted the Open Software for their administration one or two years ago. Indeed that regional goverment releases its own distro named "Linex" ( www.linex.org )
