MottS Posted April 17, 2003 Report Share Posted April 17, 2003 Usually there is a way to pass options to the kernel before to boot it. With the Mandrake cds you have to press F1 and then type in your option(s) and press Enter. I don't know how to do that for Slackware or VectorLinux but I'm sure there is a way to do so. That may be F1 btw... try it! At the prompt enter 'linux root=/dev/hda1'. That should solve the problem. If that doesn't work then try to delete the fat32 partition with fdisk (the partition is empty anyway right?). Maybe the kernel on those cds are not compiled with vfat support (guessing here).
