Guest jwl
I installed mdk9.0 over a Debian installation that was already paritioned and formatted for ext2. The Mandrake installer kept the ext2 paritions; I never saw an option to change them. I'd like to upgrade to ext3, because I've heard it's fairly easy. What's the best way to do so? dalee
Hi, You wil need to do an expert install. Then pick each partion and change the FS type. At least I think 9.0 still lets' you do that. I'm still using 8.0 :( . Stupid worthless dial-up. dalee
Counterspy
You should not have to reinstall. There is a program for converting ext2 to ext3 in place, but like all good ideas, I can't remember the name of it. Someone else may see this and save us both. Counterspy. pmpatrick
Here's a link that might help. I haven't tried it myself though. http://xlife.zuavra.net/columns/20020211.php
Counterspy
Since ext3 is already supported in the kernel, I don't think you will need to make all of the changes described in the article. I would check lilo or grub just tomake sure. In any event follow the mini-How-To here: http://www.symonds.net/~rajesh/howto/ext3/toc.html . Counterspy.
