Guest Kunk
Hi, I've had a recurrent problem upgrading KMail on successive new Mandriva installations. For example, on the same machine, but on different hard drives, I have 2006.0 with KMail installed with lots of mail entries, and now 2007.1 with KMail installed but with none of my active directories, etc. In the past, I tried the standard upgrade, but none of my entries were saved. Therefore, I have resorted to manually transfering, via DVD, whatever files needed to get 2007.1's KMail current with my working (2006.0) version. However, each time in the past when I have tried to do this, I have had to manually re-create the whole directory with individual accounts. Unfortunately, I've never managed to get KMail to save the contents of the emails. Only the titles seem to have been saved - if clicked on, nothing appears. Obviously, I missed the cached files that the cryptic ids refer to. Would someone be so kind as to indicate what files I should include in the DVD transfer? My shortlist, so far, is .Mail, .kmailrc - but what else is needed? Tia, Kunk Blush, blush: I looked again through KMail's FAQ, and found where the files are located, and completed a successful upgrade.
