Digicam and other applications detect correct the device but when i try "connecting to camera" after a very long time i recive the message PTP I/O error or i do not recive anything and the program crash itself  In "Configure your computer" hardware settings it was detected but is "unknown module" It is possible that the module is missing? but which module Anybody can help meeeee? :D ***************** In other words 2007.1 works wonderful for me, speed stability, tvtuner all works except the photo camera. Cheers ********************* Edit : --------> Sorry, it seems i posted in wrong place, i don't know how could i move this topic so if an admin can do this is ok, sorry again . Greg2
Do you have your camera's 'USB Connect' set to PTP or Normal? What version of libgphoto are you using? rpm -qa |grep libgphoto because there have been some problems with Canon A430 and libgphoto2-2.3.
Guest shivali
libgphoto-common-2.3.1-1mdv2007.1 libgphoto2-2.3.1-1mdv2007.1 libgphoto-hotplug-2.3.1-1mdv2007.1 libgphoto2-devel-2.3.1-1mdv2007.1 The camera is detected PTP mode. Should i remove all these libraries and replace with olderones? But digikam will work? Edited May 7, 2007 by shivali
Greg2
This is a Debian bug, but libs are libs. Please read Bug#422386 This guy returned to version 2.2.1 to make it work.
Greg2
Sorry, I gave you the wrong link. Here's the real bug report #422386 There is nothing in Mandriva bugs yet, if you'd like to report it? http://qa.mandriva.com/
Guest shivali
Thanks Greg2, you are good :D . I installed those 4 rpm's libgphoto 2007.0 version (2-2.2.1-9.mdk) and my camera work perfectly again. I can't remove my old libraries because dependinces required to uninstall approx 500mb others applications !!!! include gtkam and a hundred others applications. If i do this i am fear after reboot the system it won't work again  So i tried rpm -Uvh libgphoto*.rpm --force and work again, gtkam and all aplications work , even they depend to libraries 2.3. :D I think i am lucky Thanks again Best regards valy
