scarecrow
Does it play in "some" media player(s) if you change the extension from .dat to .mpg , or not?

scarecrow
The K3B backend (vcdimager) supports only mpeg videostreams for VCD authoring. Where did you get the .dat files from? If you already have a videoCD, then make a "clone copy" of it... else you have to convert it to mpg first (you won't lose any quality) by using some appropriate tool, say ffmpeg (likely already installed): ffmpeg -i foo.avi -target vcd foo.mpg (replace "foo" with the actual name) Or, use any decent ffmpeg frontend.
