Init strings

I guess you'll need to tell us more about your modem, especially the brand and model.

However, as far as I'm concerned, I'd be at a loss to deduce the init string from this information. For my own modem, I deduced the init string from what I could gather from the .INI file of the windows driver.

It describes a working PPP configuration, wrapped by two commands: pppon.sh and pppoff.sh, both of which can of course be called by buttons, menu items... as you want.
